Instead of Assignar
Stop renting Assignar. Own your civil operations system.
We build your version around your crews, machines and client dockets, map the Assignar records you export, and run it for you through Omni by Enterprise DNA.
Assignar quotes privately for your team’s needs. Bring your current quote or renewal bill so we can compare the actual scope.

What the Assignar subscription covers
Compare the work you need, then compare the quote
Assignar publishes a tailored quote rather than a rate card. Its product covers scheduling, workforce records, field forms and reporting. These are the parts to examine against your own operation.
A private quote
There is no public rate to multiply into your annual bill. Use your actual renewal quote and agreed inclusions when deciding what to replace.
People and equipment scheduling
Assignar provides a visual scheduler for workers and equipment. Your allocation record underneath is the site, operator, machine, date and planned hours.
Workforce and competency records
Assignar keeps workforce information and certifications alongside scheduling. Your version checks the recorded ticket and induction against the date of the booking.
Forms from the field
Assignar provides field forms. Decide which prestarts and work records your crews need to submit, then have that field workflow built into your version.
Timesheet exports
Assignar offers several timesheet export formats. The free import accepts its documented MYOB AccountRight export for recorded hours and categories, with project mapping checked separately.
Reporting over your records
Assignar provides reporting and analytics. In your own version, the questions and reports can change with the business, including the records and checks you choose to add.
What your own version does
Run the civil operations record around the morning decisions
Allocation
Check the booking before a machine moves
See the coming week by site, worker and machine, with the record gaps named beside the booking.
- check Reject a new booking with an expired competency or site induction
- check Reject a booking beyond the machine’s recorded service date
- check Prevent a second daily booking for the same worker or machine
- check See which allocated machines still need a passing prestart before the supervisor’s decision
Dockets
Know which work still needs a client decision
Keep the work date, hours, quantity and approval together, then show accounts what is ready.
- check Find unsigned dockets older than two days
- check Keep client approval separate from the invoice marker
- check Prevent an invoice marker until approval is recorded
- check Print a docket in your own brand and draft a review request without sending it
Records
Keep safety evidence attached to operational decisions
The default checks follow cited New Zealand guidance and clearly labelled business policies. Supervisors verify conditions on site.
- check List assessed competencies that expire in the next sixty days
- check See failed plant prestarts and the recorded defect notes
- check Find active sites with no diary entry in the last three days
- check Print a site brief containing allocations, record gaps and diary notes
Ownership
Ask across sites without rebuilding a report by hand
Your people, plant and work history stay in a database you own, with the rules open to change.
- check Compare planned and recorded hours for each daily allocation
- check See next week’s booked days and hours for each machine
- check Find imported time that still needs a project assigned
- check Add your own field or report and keep the database export available

Switching
How to switch from Assignar
The move happens record by record: timesheet hours import directly from the documented Assignar export, while plant, competencies, inductions and dockets need mapping before you can rely on the new system.
- 1
Export what Assignar allows
Assignar's documented export is the MYOB AccountRight timesheet CSV, which carries recorded hours and category names. Export what your account allows, usually CSV or Excel, and check with Assignar if you are unsure what you can pull out. Plant records, competencies, inductions and dockets are not part of that export and need to be entered or mapped separately.
- 2
Load a test batch first
Before touching real records, load one week of the export as a test run. This shows you what gets kept, the hours and category names, and flags anything it cannot place, without changing anything permanent. Only load it for real once the test result looks right and matches what you expect to see.
- 3
Check what the import flags
The import keeps timesheet records visible even when it cannot assign them to a project. Work through that list and match each entry to the right site before you trust the numbers. This step also shows you what Assignar's export left out, so you know what still needs entering by hand.
- 4
Run both systems together
Keep Assignar running while you enter your plant, crew, competency and induction records and start booking real work in the new system for a short period. Compare the two on hours, availability and compliance holds before anyone treats the new database as the record of truth.
- 5
Switch off Assignar
Once your crew, plant, competency and docket records are complete and the comparison period checks out, stop paying for Assignar and make the new database the only place work gets booked, checked and approved.
Where the real effort goes
The real work is not the export, it is mapping your own fields, your own rules and your plant and competency records into the new system, and deciding how much history to bring across rather than start fresh. Enterprise DNA does this mapping and the side-by-side checking when you have them set up or run your version.

Questions
Instead of Assignar, answered
What does Assignar cost compared with this? expand_more
Assignar’s current pricing page asks you to book a demo for a custom quote. We do not turn a directory’s estimated seat price into your annual bill. The open-source base is free. Hosting and any tools you choose have their own costs. Enterprise DNA scopes the setup, then a retainer for the managed version.
Can you bring all our Assignar records across? expand_more
We scope the migration around the exports available in your account and check the result against your originals. The free import accepts the documented MYOB AccountRight timesheet export, retaining hours and category names. Plant, competencies, inductions, dockets and attachments need separate mapping. Timesheet records without a project remain visibly unassigned until reconciled.
How do our operators submit work from the field? expand_more
Enterprise DNA builds the agreed phone forms, prestarts and docket capture into your version. We test those with your crews before switching their working process. The free base supports the office record and printable documents. Mobile and offline requirements belong in the scope of your version.
Will this tell us that a crew is safe to dispatch? expand_more
It checks the recorded competency, induction, service date and prestart. Missing evidence creates a hold. A supervisor still checks conditions and authorises the work. The default guidance is New Zealand based. Australian licence classes and state requirements need to be configured for the work you do.
Does it replace our payroll or send invoices? expand_more
It records hours and the original exported category names. It does not calculate payroll, move money or send invoices. Approved dockets give your accounts team a work record to review, and you record the invoice date once accounts has dealt with it. Your version can connect to the approved accounting process as agreed.
