Instead of Mango
Stop licensing Mango per employee. Own your health and safety system.
Enterprise DNA builds your version around the way your sites report, investigate and follow up, carries your Mango registers across, and runs it for you. The bill does not rise when you hire.
Mango publishes no prices. EcoOnline quotes each organisation after a demo, on a company-wide licence priced per employee.

What the licence covers
A headcount price over a register of accidents, risks and actions
Mango is sold as one platform with a long module list, priced by how many people you employ. Strip away the menus and most of it is a handful of registers: who got hurt, what could hurt them, what was promised to fix it, and who is trained for what.
A price that follows your payroll
EcoOnline says the licence is per employee across the whole company. Take on a new crew for a contract and the licence grows with it, even if half of them never log in.
No number until the demo
Neither the EcoOnline page nor Mango's own site shows a price. You find out what it costs after a sales call, and you compare it to nothing.
Twenty-odd modules, most of them menus
Accidents, risk, audits, improvements, documents, training, plant, suppliers, calendar, charts, dashboard. Many are separate screens over the same few lists of people, sites, events and actions.
A report writer you have to drive
Mango's answer to a question is a report writer that reports on any area of its database. You still build the report, pick the fields and set the filters before you learn anything.
Email alerts in place of judgement
Investigators get notified by email when they are assigned to an event.
Your history behind their login
The help centre sits behind the customer login and the public pages describe no plain export. Years of incident history are yours, but getting them out runs through their report tools.
What you get instead
The same safety records, with no meter on headcount
Headcount
Hire without a bigger renewal
Every worker, contractor and visitor can be on the record without any of them costing a licence.
- check No charge per employee and no charge per login
- check Contractors carried with their company, because overlapping duties cover them too
- check Seasonal crews added and stood down without calling a vendor
- check Supervisors, managers and the owner each ask their own questions in plain English
Accidents
An event that cannot be quietly closed
Log what happened and if it is notifiable, the duties show straight away, then holds the line until the right things are done.
- check A notifiable event stays open until the date WorkSafe was told is on the record
- check An investigation cannot close without a corrective action or a written reason why none was needed
- check The written notification is drafted from the record for a person to check and send
- check Near misses per site over twelve months, so a site that stops reporting stands out
Follow-up
One list of what is late, with an owner on every line
Overdue actions, lapsed inductions, stale hazard reviews and missed inspections arrive together, ordered by harm to people first.
- check Every corrective action shows the event or inspection it came from and who owns it
- check Hazards rated high or critical and held only by PPE or paperwork are flagged until the controls improve
- check Tickets and inductions expiring in the next sixty days, named, before the day they lapse
- check Every hazard shows the incidents it has caused
Ownership
Records that outlast any vendor
Your people, events, risks and training live in a database the business controls. Any tool can read it, and it is still yours if you stop paying anyone.
- check Bring your Mango registers across, checked on the way in, with a test run first
- check Anything notifiable that arrives with no reported date goes straight to the top of the list
- check Notifiable-event records kept for the five years the law requires
- check Board reports and a printable risk register made from the data in your own branding

Switching
How to switch from Mango
Moving off Mango means pulling your registers out through its report writer, mapping the columns to plain records, and checking the load before you trust it with real work.
- 1
Export your registers from Mango
Mango's help pages sit behind a customer login, and its public pages describe a report writer rather than a one-click export. Run a report for each register you rely on, people, risks, accidents and training, and save each as a spreadsheet. If you are unsure what your account allows, ask EcoOnline support or the partner who set you up.
- 2
Load the records, test first
The system reads the column layout used by ecoPortal, SiteDocs and plain spreadsheets, and matches common headings generously, but Mango's report columns will need mapping to the layout it expects. Do a test run first, so you can see what would load before anything is written to the database. Adjust the mapping and run the test again until it looks right.
- 3
Check what the import flags
The import doubles as an audit. Any notifiable event with no regulator-notified date lands at the top of the attention list the moment the load finishes. Read that list before you do anything else. It tells you what Mango's records were missing, not just what came across cleanly.
- 4
Run both systems side by side
Keep Mango live for a short period while your team logs the same events, hazards and training in the new system. This is how you catch a mapping mistake or a register you forgot to export, before Mango is gone and there is nothing to check against. Once a normal week's records match on both sides, you are ready to stop.
- 5
Switch off Mango
Once your registers are loaded, checked and matched against a real week of use, cancel the Mango licence. Keep the exported spreadsheets somewhere safe as your paper trail, even though the working record now lives in the database you own.
Where the real effort goes
The real work is not moving files, it is mapping Mango's columns onto records that mean the same thing, and deciding how much history to bring across rather than starting the register clean. Enterprise DNA does this mapping and the judgment calls about history when they install and run it for you.

Questions
Instead of Mango, answered
Mango covers quality and environment too. Is this really a replacement? expand_more
For the health and safety side, yes: accidents, near misses, risks, corrective actions, inspections and training. The free version does not ship quality or environmental registers. If you use Mango for ISO 9001 or 14001 work, Enterprise DNA builds those registers into your version on the same database, so everything stays in one place.
How do we get our records out of Mango? expand_more
Mango's help pages sit behind its customer login, and its public pages describe a report writer rather than a one-click export. In practice you run a report per register (people, risks, accidents, training) and save each as a spreadsheet. If you are unsure what your account allows, ask EcoOnline support or the partner who set you up.
Will our Mango files load straight in? expand_more
Not untouched. The free version reads the column layout used by ecoPortal, SiteDocs and plain spreadsheets, and matches common headings generously, but Mango's reports carry their own column names. Mapping them is part of what Enterprise DNA does in the setup, or you can ask Claude Code to map them yourself. Either way you do a test run before anything is written.
We are in Australia. Does it know our rules? expand_more
The rule book in the free version is written for New Zealand law and cites each section it checks. The records themselves (events, risks, actions, training) work the same anywhere. For an Australian business, Enterprise DNA writes your state's work health and safety rules into your version, with their sources, as part of the setup.
What about the Mango app our crews use on site? expand_more
The free version is run by whoever keeps the records, typing in plain English. If your crews need to report from their phones, a simple mobile form that lands in the same database is something Enterprise DNA builds into your version. What matters is that the record is complete and the follow-up is chased, however it arrives.
Stop paying for your safety system by the head
A call with Sam. We look at what your Mango renewal covers, which modules your people actually open, and what your own version would look like across your sites. If it is a fit, we build it and run it. If not, the free version is yours to keep.
