Instead of Wunderbuild
Stop renting Wunderbuild. Own the system your jobs run on.
Enterprise DNA sets up your version around how you estimate, order and claim, brings your Wunderbuild jobs and clients across, and runs it for you. No project count deciding your price.
Wunderbuild's own pricing runs A$123 a month for one active project to A$499 a month for unlimited, including GST: up to A$5,988 a year.

Where the money goes
Wunderbuild prices your growth. The record underneath is the same at any size
Wunderbuild publishes four plans in Australian dollars including GST: A$123 a month for one active project, A$249 for two to ten, A$375 for eleven to twenty and A$499 for unlimited. Every plan has every feature and unlimited users, so the only thing you pay more for is being busier. A builder's record does not change shape with volume: clients, jobs, budget lines, costs, orders, variations, claims, subbies and a diary.
A price that tracks your workload
Your eleventh live job takes you from A$249 to A$375 a month, and your twenty-first to A$499. Same features, same users, a bigger invoice because the business is doing well.
Twelve months of rent on a record you filled
At A$499 a month that is A$5,988 a year to keep reaching jobs, costs and claims your own team typed in. Stop paying and the screens go; the history should not go with them.
Budget and cost screens
Wunderbuild tracks expenses against a project budget. What a builder needs is the warning before the invoice: money promised on open orders counted against the line, and the overrun named the day it happens.
Invoices without the rules behind them
Wunderbuild sends invoices tailored to the estimate. It does not advertise a claim ceiling, variations signed off before the work, or retention you have to release. Those are the rules that decide who wins a payment dispute.
Reports someone else chose
Gantt charts, task lists and budget screens answer the questions the vendor picked. Which subbie on which site has lapsed cover, or which job has gone a month unclaimed, is a question you should be able to just ask.
A client login you may not need
The client module lets homeowners watch progress. Most clients want a clear claim, a signed variation and a straight answer when they ring.
What you run instead
Your jobs, your costs and your claims, kept honest by rules that do not bend
Getting paid
Claims that stay inside the contract
Each claim carries an amount and a due date, and the system checks it against the contract before it goes anywhere.
- check A claim that would take the job past the contract plus signed variations is stopped, with no override
- check Unpaid claims past their due date rise to the top of the list with the days counted, and a firm chaser letter is drafted for you to send
- check Claim paperwork comes out in your own branding with the contract position and every signed variation listed
- check A live job with costs landing and no claim for a month shows up on its own, before the gap becomes a cash problem
Spending
Job costing that counts orders before the bill arrives
Your estimate becomes the budget, line by line. Orders commit money the day they are raised, and costs land on the line they belong to.
- check Money promised on open orders counts against the line straight away, so framing does not look fine for a month and then blow out
- check An overrun is flagged the moment a cost lands, in dollars, with a prompt to say whether it was scope, price or waste
- check Margin per job, worst first, at today's numbers: contract plus signed variations, less spent and promised
- check Any number of jobs, any number of staff, and the price of running it does not move with either
Protection
The checks that keep you out of adjudication
The shortcuts that lose disputes are refused, and each refusal says why.
- check No work and no claim on a variation until someone has approved it in writing, with their name on the record
- check A subbie whose public liability has expired cannot be put on a job, and cover about to lapse is flagged weeks ahead
- check The free version ships with New Zealand's rules, including the written contract required before larger residential jobs start; Enterprise DNA sets your version to your contracts
- check A dated site diary kept in one line a day: the record you will want if a job ever goes to dispute
Ownership
Your records, in a database that outlives any subscription
It runs on a laptop to start, or on your company's own database for the whole office, and works with Claude Code and other assistants.
- check Every job, cost, claim and variation in plain records you can back up, query and keep for the ten years a builder is on the hook
- check Your accountant gets a full export whenever they ask, and Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks stay your books
- check Rules you can read and change in plain language, not a support ticket
- check Open source under the MIT licence: no plan limits, no project count, no lock-in

Switching
How to switch from Wunderbuild
Moving off Wunderbuild is mostly about getting your records out cleanly, checking what the import flags, and running both systems side by side for a stretch before you cancel.
- 1
Export your records from Wunderbuild
Wunderbuild does not publish a step by step export guide, so check with Wunderbuild support or your own account settings for what your plan allows you to pull out. Get your clients, jobs, budgets, costs, purchase orders, and invoices out this way before you touch anything else.
- 2
Load the data in, testing first
Bring your exported files into Builders for Claude Code. Run a test load first so you can see what would happen without committing anything, then run it for real once it looks right. Wunderbuild's own record format is not the same as the one the free import reads directly, so this step is mapping your files to the right fields, in plain language, before anything is final.
- 3
Check what the import flags
Treat the results as your first audit. The load will flag larger jobs with no signed contract and cost lines with no budget behind them. Go through each flag and fix or confirm it before you rely on the new system for real decisions.
- 4
Run both systems side by side
Keep Wunderbuild running for a short stretch while you use the new system day to day. Check the same jobs, budgets and claims in both places and make sure the numbers agree. This is where you catch anything that did not map across cleanly, before you commit to only one system.
- 5
Switch off Wunderbuild
Once you have checked a full cycle of claims, costs and jobs and trust the numbers, cancel your Wunderbuild plan. Your records now live in a database your company owns, not tied to a monthly bill that rises every time you win another job.
Where the real effort goes
The real work is not the move itself, it's making your fields and rules land right on the other side. Wunderbuild does not publish an export guide, so check what your plan allows first. Someone still has to map jobs, budgets and claims to your own rules, and decide how much history to bring across. Enterprise DNA does this mapping and history work when they install and run it for you.

Questions
Instead of Wunderbuild, answered
Wunderbuild includes unlimited users. Why change? expand_more
Because it charges by active projects instead. The more jobs you run at once, the higher your plan, up to A$499 a month. Your own system costs the same whether you have three jobs on or thirty, and the records stay with you if you ever stop paying anyone.
Can I bring my Wunderbuild data across? expand_more
Yes, but be clear on how. The free version reads Buildxact's export format, not Wunderbuild's, and we found no published guide to exporting from Wunderbuild. When Enterprise DNA builds your version, getting your clients, jobs, budgets and costs out and mapped across is part of the setup. On the free version, you can ask Claude Code to match your files to the right fields.
What about estimating? expand_more
Keep estimating the way you do now, in Wunderbuild or a spreadsheet. Once a quote is accepted, its line totals go in as the job budget, and from there the system runs costs, orders, variations, claims and margin. Pulling line items straight from your estimating tool is something Enterprise DNA can add to your version.
Will it work with Xero or MYOB? expand_more
Your accounting software stays your books. This is the job record: which job, which budget line, which claim. Your accountant gets a full export any time. The free version does not sync live with accounting software today; Enterprise DNA can build that link into your version.
Is there a phone app for site? expand_more
Not in the free version: the office runs it. If your supervisors need to log diary entries or costs from site, Enterprise DNA builds a simple site screen into your version, working from the same database.
