The plans
What CDK Global charges
CDK Global does not publish a single price list. Its own materials put the average dealership's spend near US$30,000 a month once the usual ten to fifteen bolt-on modules are counted, with integration fees of $10,000 to $40,000 and a further $175 to $700 a month per rooftop charged to third parties just to reach the dealer's own data.
How CDK Global is sold
Quoted privately (around US$30,000/month typical spend once bolt-ons are counted)
There is no published tier list. Dealers are quoted per rooftop, per module, on custom terms, and in New Zealand and Australia the same model runs through Pentana eraPower and Titan DMS on unpublished per-rooftop quotes.
How the bill is built
A licence per rooftop, per module
The base bill covers sales, service and parts. Almost every extra capability beyond that, reporting, CRM, a changed form, is its own fee. The bill grows with the number of modules switched on, not with what the software actually does for you.
Paying to reach your own records
Third-party tools pay CDK integration fees of $10,000 to $40,000, plus $175 to $700 a month per rooftop, just to read the dealership's own customer, stock and repair order data. Dealers on industry forums describe it as a toll booth on their own information.
Implementation and conversion billed separately
Getting set up is scoped and billed as its own project, on top of the monthly licence, usually tied to a multi-year term. Moving your own history into the system is the part you pay most for, and you pay again if you ever leave.
Compliance features sold as premium add-ons
Checks tied to consumer protection, security interests and anti-money laundering rules are sold as higher-tier modules rather than built into the base product. What should be a baseline safeguard becomes another line on the invoice.
A year of CDK Global
What a year on CDK Global actually adds up to
Twelve months at CDK's own stated average of around US$30,000 a month comes to roughly US$360,000 a year in licence spend alone, before the $10,000 to $40,000 integration fees and the $175 to $700 a month per rooftop that third-party access costs on top. Pentana and Titan run the same per-rooftop model in New Zealand and Australia, quoted privately, so the same shape of bill applies even without a public figure.
Underneath the bill
What you are really paying for
A toll booth on your own data
Third-party tools pay CDK $175 to $700 a month per rooftop, plus $10,000 to $40,000 in integration fees, just to read the customer, stock and repair order records the dealership already owns. You are charged to reach information that is yours.
Compliance held back as a paid tier
Checks that keep a dealer inside consumer protection, security interest and anti-money laundering rules are sold as premium modules rather than included as standard. The safeguard you need most is the one behind the highest price.
Your own history, priced as a project
Bringing your existing customer, stock and repair order history into the system is scoped and billed separately from the monthly licence, on a multi-year term. The record you already had costs extra to get in, and extra again to get out.
The owned alternative
Your records, owned outright, run in plain language
Enterprise DNA builds a version of Dealership for Claude Code around how your business actually runs, brings your CDK Global data across, and runs it for you. You pay one setup fee, then a monthly retainer, with no per-seat licences and no per-rooftop toll on your own data. An owner who wants to run it themselves can start with the free version and grow into a managed setup later.
