The plans
What Nookal charges
Nookal charges a monthly fee for every practitioner on the roster, on top of which it adds claiming fees and paid add-ons. The bill grows with headcount and with how many claims and reminders the clinic sends, not with how the clinic actually runs.
Essentials
A$49 per practitioner a month
The entry tier, priced per practitioner before GST, with ACC claims charged at 12 cents each and no patient portal or secure messaging included.
Professional
A$59 per practitioner a month
Ten dollars more per practitioner a month than Essentials, and the tier where ACC claims become free rather than 12 cents each.
Enterprise
Quoted privately
No published price, so a clinic has to ask Nookal directly to find out what this tier costs.
How the bill is built
A fee on every practitioner
Each practitioner costs A$49 or A$59 a month depending on the tier, so A$588 to A$708 a year per person. Hire a new graduate, add a part-time chiropractor or bring in a Pilates instructor and the bill grows again.
Claiming on a meter
Medicare claims carry a usage charge from 10 cents each on every plan. ACC claims cost 12 cents each unless the clinic is on Professional, where they are free. The claims that pay the clinic are the claims that cost it.
Add-ons for the basics
The patient portal starts at $10 a location a month and secure messaging at $1.50 a user a month, and neither is available on Essentials. Text reminders start at 7 cents a message on top of the base fee.
A year of Nookal
What ten practitioners cost in a year
A clinic with 10 practitioners on Nookal pays A$5,880 a year on Essentials or A$7,080 a year on Professional, before any claims fees, patient portal, secure messaging or text reminders are added. Each fee sits on top of the per-practitioner charge, so the real annual total runs higher than the headline figure once claiming volume and add-ons are counted.
Underneath the bill
What you are really paying for
Screens over your own client records
The client files, claims and treatment history belong to the clinic, but the monthly fee buys the front end around them. Years of notes and claims sit inside Nookal's cloud, and leaving means exporting and rebuilding rather than simply walking away.
Features held back for a higher tier
ACC claims cost 12 cents each on Essentials and become free only on Professional. The patient portal and secure messaging are not available on Essentials at all, so a clinic pays more just to reach features that sit on a higher tier.
A queue instead of a fix
A rule the clinic needs, a field a funder asks for or a report the principal wants waits behind every other clinic's request. The bill still arrives every month whether or not that request is ever built.
The owned alternative
A clinic system your business owns
Physio Clinic for Claude Code is the owned alternative. Enterprise DNA builds a version around how the clinic actually runs, brings the Nookal client, claims and treatment history across, and runs it for the clinic. There is one setup fee, then a monthly retainer, with no per-practitioner charge. A free version is also available for an owner to run themselves.
Physio Clinic for Claude Code
One setup fee, then a monthly retainer. No per-seat plans, no tiers, and the system is yours.

Questions
Nookal pricing, answered
Does the Nookal bill change as a clinic adds staff? expand_more
Yes. Both Essentials and Professional are priced per practitioner a month, so every new hire, part-time contractor or Pilates instructor added to the roster adds another A$588 to A$708 a year to the bill, on top of whatever claims and add-ons the clinic already pays for.
What pushes a Nookal bill above the base per-practitioner fee? expand_more
Medicare claims cost from 10 cents each on any tier, and ACC claims cost 12 cents each unless the clinic is on Professional. The patient portal, secure messaging and text reminders are all charged separately and are not included in the base per-practitioner fee.
Why doesn't Nookal publish an Enterprise price? expand_more
Nookal lists Essentials and Professional publicly but leaves Enterprise as a private quote, so a clinic needing that tier has no way to compare its cost against the two published plans without contacting Nookal directly.
